Foreign Investment in Indonesia Rises with U.S. Contribution The United States has become the fifth-largest investor in Indonesia in 2024, with a total investment of US$3.7 billion. This marks a significant increase, as the U.S. was not among the top five investors in 2023. The rise in investment highlights the growing economic partnership between the two nations.

President Prabowo Encourages U.S. Investment in Indonesia During a meeting with The United States – Indonesia Society (USINDO) in Washington, DC, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto urged American companies to invest in key sectors such as renewable energy, technology, and education. He emphasized the potential for economic collaboration that could benefit both countries.

American Companies Contribute to Indonesia’s Economic Growth Between 2014 and 2023, private companies from the United States have contributed an economic impact equivalent to $130 billion to Indonesia’s economic development. This investment has played a crucial role in boosting the nation’s industrial and infrastructure sectors.

Upcoming Investments in Early 2025 Indonesia’s Minister of Investment and Industrialization, Rosan Roeslani, announced that several foreign investors, including those from the U.S., are expected to enter Indonesia in the first quarter of 2025. The new investments will further enhance economic ties and provide job opportunities across multiple industries.

The increasing investment from the U.S. reflects the strengthening relationship between the two countries and signals a promising future for economic cooperation.
